Great to meet you!

Florida Therapist for High-Achieving Adults: ADHD, Burnout & Trauma Recovery I'm Michael Blake Edwards, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in Florida, working with driven adults — executives, entrepreneurs, first responders, and veterans — who look like they have it together from the outside but feel scattered, on edge, or disconnected on the inside. If you've built the career, stayed disciplined, and kept pushing, and something still feels off, that's not a character flaw. It's usually a sign your mind and body are asking for something you haven't addressed yet.

My approach to therapy

You built the empire. Now it's running you.

Behind the title, the closed deals, the image you've mastered — something's fraying. Distraction. Restlessness. A 3am mind that won't stand down. Most call it stress and push through. It rarely is stress alone. It's often undiagnosed adult ADHD, chronic overload, or trauma your nervous system never finished processing — hiding under an exterior too competent to question.

I don't traffic in endless insight-without-action. I engineer results. Using EMDR (Trauma Therapist Institute-trained) and Accelerated Resolution Therapy — a rapid protocol that can shift entrenched patterns in as few as 1-5 sessions — plus targeted CBT and Mindful HypnosisTM, we go straight to the root, not the symptom. You leave every session with a tool you use that day, not homework you forget.

Focus areas: adult ADHD, trauma & PTSD, high-functioning anxiety, burnout, nervous system regulation, men's issues, military & first-responder mental health.

Credentials that matter: 14+ years licensed clinical experience (LMHC), Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider, Certified Mindfulness-Informed Professional, and Harvard Medical School Executive Education in Lifestyle & Wellness Coaching. EMDR is endorsed by the WHO, APA, and the VA — this isn't alternative medicine, it's the standard of care for people who don't have time to waste on what doesn't work.

Secure telehealth across all 67 Florida counties. Most major insurance accepted — cost isn't the barrier here.

This isn't about becoming someone new. It's about clearing what's blocking the version of you that already knows how to command a room, close the deal, and lead — so it stops costing you sleep, focus, and control.

What you can expect from me

First session

Our first session is about setting the foundation for real progress. We’ll begin with a structured clinical interview where I’ll ask detailed questions about different parts of your life, your work, habits, routines, childhood, and family dynamics. This gives us a clear, comprehensive picture of what’s working and what’s getting in your way. The goal of this first meeting is clarity. By the end of the session, I’ll share a provisional diagnosis and initial impressions so we can identify the key patterns and stressors behind your current challenges. From there, we’ll outline a personalized plan focused on measurable change, whether that means improving focus, managing stress more effectively, or resolving unresolved trauma that’s been slowing you down. You can expect the process to be professional, conversational, and focused on getting actionable insights right from the start. My approach is direct but supportive. I’ll ask thoughtful questions, listen carefully, and help you form connections that bring your goals within reach. The first session isn’t just about assessment; it’s about setting you up for success mentally, emotionally, and physically.
