Great to meet you!

I work with individuals and families who are navigating stress, major life transitions, emotional challenges, or complex personal circumstances. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. My role is to offer a steady, thoughtful space where we can slow things down, make sense of what’s happening, and build practical paths toward greater stability and clarity.

I take a collaborative, individualized approach to therapy. That means I spend time truly understanding your story, your strengths, and what feels most challenging right now. Together, we focus not only on insight, but on developing concrete skills and strategies you can use in daily life to feel more grounded, capable, and in control.

I work with children, adolescents, and adults, and regularly support individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, emotional overwhelm, addictive behaviors, and high levels of stress. I also have extensive experience working with people in high-pressure roles, including first responders, professionals in demanding environments, and individuals connected to the legal or criminal justice system. I understand how sustained stress, responsibility, and scrutiny can impact mental health and relationships.

Clients often describe my style as calm, direct, and compassionate. I aim to offer both understanding and clear guidance, meeting you where you are while helping you move toward meaningful, realistic change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, thoughtful, and tailored to you as an individual. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely understood, supported, and equipped with practical tools they can use in everyday life. Therapy isn’t about labeling or judgment. It’s about making sense of what you’re experiencing and creating a clear, manageable way forward.

I take time to understand your full story, including your background, current stressors, strengths, and goals. Together, we identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop strategies that fit your life realistically. Insight matters, but insight alone isn’t enough. Our work focuses on building skills, strengthening coping strategies, and practicing new ways of responding to stress, emotions, and challenges as they arise.

My work is grounded in evidence-based care and informed by neuroscience, trauma-informed principles, and decades of clinical experience. I strive to create a calm, respectful space where difficult topics can be explored safely and honestly. I’m direct when clarity is helpful, supportive when it’s needed, and always focused on helping you move toward greater stability, confidence, and well-being.

Above all, I see therapy as a partnership. We move at a pace that feels right for you, adjust the approach as your needs evolve, and focus on progress that is realistic, sustainable, and meaningful in the context of your life.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin creating a clear, supportive path forward. Many people come to therapy feeling nervous, unsure where to start, or concerned about being judged. My priority in the first session is helping you feel comfortable, understood, and grounded.

We’ll talk about what brought you in, what feels most challenging right now, and what you’re hoping might change. You don’t need to have the “right words” or a perfectly organized story. Part of my role is to help you sort through things at a pace that feels manageable. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, and any patterns that may be contributing to stress or difficulty.

The first session is not an interrogation, and it’s not about pushing you to revisit painful experiences before you’re ready. Instead, it’s a collaborative conversation focused on understanding and direction. We’ll also review practical information, including confidentiality, how therapy works, and what a treatment plan might look like based on your needs.

By the end of the session, many clients leave with greater clarity, some initial insight or strategies, and a sense of whether my approach feels like a good fit. From there, we can decide together how to move forward in a way that feels supportive, realistic, and aligned with your goals.
