Great to meet you!

Hello, and welcome! I'm Diosdado Dizon, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 19 years of nursing experience and a passion for helping individuals improve their mental health and quality of life.

I understand that reaching out for mental health care isn't always easy. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, mood changes, difficulty concentrating, sleep problems, or simply feeling overwhelmed by life's challenges, my goal is to provide a welcoming, supportive environment where you feel heard, respected, and understood.

My clinical background includes extensive experience in psychiatric and medical settings, from hospital-based behavioral health and crisis care to outpatient psychiatric treatment. I specialize in comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and individualized treatment planning for a variety of mental health conditions.

I earned my Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health from Herzing University and my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Coast University, graduating with academic honors.

I believe that effective mental health care begins with trust, compassion, and genuine human connection. I welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and am fluent in English and Tagalog.

You deserve to be heard, understood, and supported. I'm here to help you take that next step toward feeling better.

My approach to therapy

My approach to mental health care is simple: I listen first, understand your concerns, and work with you to develop a treatment plan that fits your individual needs and goals.

I believe that every person has a unique story, and mental health treatment should never be one-size-fits-all. I take the time to understand not only your symptoms but also your personal experiences, lifestyle, relationships, and the challenges that may be affecting your emotional well-being.

My practice combines evidence-based psychiatric care with compassion, open communication, and shared decision-making. When medication is appropriate, I carefully consider its potential benefits, side effects, and how it may affect your daily life. I believe in using medication thoughtfully, with ongoing monitoring and adjustments based on your response and preferences.

I also recognize the importance of therapy, healthy coping strategies, lifestyle changes, and a strong support system in achieving lasting improvement.

Above all, I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, discussing concerns, and participating in decisions about your care.

My goal isn't simply to treat symptoms. It's to help you feel more like yourself, improve your daily functioning, and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know each other, discuss your concerns, and begin developing a plan to help you move forward.

I understand that meeting a new mental health provider can sometimes feel intimidating, especially if you're discussing personal experiences or difficult emotions. My priority is to create a comfortable, respectful, and judgment-free environment where you can speak openly and feel at ease.

During our initial session, we'll discuss what brought you to seek care, your current symptoms, medical and mental health history, previous treatments, medications, and any concerns or goals you may have.

I'll take the time to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and help you better understand what may be contributing to your symptoms. Together, we'll explore appropriate treatment options, which may include medication management, recommendations for therapy, lifestyle modifications, or additional resources when needed.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions and express your preferences. I believe treatment decisions should be collaborative, and I want you to feel informed and confident about your care.

You don't need to have everything figured out before your first appointment. Just come as you are. We'll take the next steps together, at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
