My approach is eclectic. Although I utilize theories and techniques from a number of different perspectives such as Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, ACT, IFS, Family Systems and Polyvagal, my belief is that not one approach is optimal for all clients. Therefore I attempt to use tools and perspectives that best match the client’s personality, experience and objectives in seeking therapy. I provide individual therapy for adults and teens struggling with depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, grief/loss and trauma related issues. I also enjoy and have extensive experience working with married couples who are in crisis or simply desiring to grow closer in intimacy with their partner. I also work with pre-married couples looking to begin their lives together on firm relational foundations. Prior to my days with Heritage I was the Executive Director of a Residential Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center in Southern California. My passion to help those struggling with addiction remains strong whether it be alcohol, drugs, sex, gambling, relationships etc. I also firmly believe in the healing power of humor and laughter and welcome such exchanges in therapy when appropriate.
