Great to meet you!
Clients should know that I bring a unique mix of personal insights and professional experience to my practice. I grew up in Aurora, Colorado, and attended Overland High School. I earned a Bachelor's in Psychology with a Minor in Physical Education from the University of Northern Colorado. After that, I studied Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University and graduated in 2002. I recently completed my Doctorate in Sport and Performance Psychology at the University of Arizona, which helps me support my athletic clients.
What sets me apart is my role as a father of four, giving me a deep understanding of family dynamics and the challenges of parenting. This perspective helps me connect with clients on a relatable level. My background in Clinical and Sport & Performance Psychology, along with eight years as a licensed special education teacher, allows me to offer a wide range of services. I have worked with many different people, including athletes, individuals in recovery, trauma survivors, children with special needs, teens, adults, and those involved with the Division of Youth Corrections (DYC) or the Department of Corrections (DOC).
I specialize in Sport & Performance Psychology, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), substance abuse counseling, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I am passionate about making mental health care accessible and actively work in the community to bridge the gap between care and access.
When you choose to work with me, you can expect a warm, welcoming environment where you feel heard and understood. My approach is rooted in compassion, and I strive to create a safe space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings. Together, we will identify and overcome the obstacles in your path, empowering you to achieve your goals. If you're ready to take the next step toward a fulfilling life, I invite you to book an appointment. Let's embark on this journey together!
