Great to meet you!

I’ve worked in mental health for more than 30 years. Since 2008, I’ve been licensed with the Virginia Board of Counseling (LPC). In 2018, I received a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Old Dominion University. Besides working directly with clients, I have also been a LPC supervisor/trainer, university educator, and agency director.

My approach to therapy

My main approach is person-centered therapy. I believe individuals can benefit from being carefully and actively listened to. By exploring thoughts, feelings, and behaviors clients naturally recognize patterns, that once adjusted, can improve outcomes.

What you can expect from me

The client will feel heard. Also, clients will develop an increased understanding of their interactions with themselves and with those around them. With this increased understanding, individuals can develop improved life strategies and coping skills.
