Great to meet you!

Finding the right therapist is an important step, and I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 25 years of public service experience, including service in the U.S. Navy, a career in law enforcement, child welfare, and my current work with veterans in the Department of Veterans Affairs. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by veterans, first responders, healthcare professionals, and individuals navigating high-stress careers.

I earned my Master of Social Work from St. Leo University and a master's degree in psychology from the University of Phoenix. I am also pursuing a Doctor of Social Work degree, with a focus on trauma-informed practice and improving behavioral health outcomes.

My clinical specialties include anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, stress management, substance use, life transitions, men's mental health, relationship concerns, and emotional regulation. I work with adults from diverse backgrounds and understand that every person's story is unique. Whether you are coping with overwhelming stress, processing past experiences, or looking to strengthen your relationships and overall well-being, we will work together to identify practical solutions that fit your goals.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and evidence based. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based interventions, trauma-informed care, and solution-focused techniques to help clients build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and create lasting change. I believe therapy should be a partnership where you feel empowered to make meaningful progress at a pace that is right for you.

If you're ready to begin your journey toward greater emotional wellness, I look forward to working with you.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when it is built on trust, collaboration, and genuine connection. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to help you better understand yourself, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical skills that support lasting change. Together, we will create goals that reflect what is most important to you and work at a pace that feels comfortable.

I take a trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive approach to treatment, recognizing that past experiences, relationships, and environments shape how we think, feel, and respond to life's challenges. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can openly discuss your concerns while feeling respected and supported.

My work integrates evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness-based interventions, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused therapy. I tailor treatment to your individual needs because no single approach works for everyone.

I have extensive experience working with veterans, first responders, healthcare professionals, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, substance use concerns, stress, burnout, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I also have a particular passion for helping men develop emotional awareness, strengthen communication, build healthier relationships, and improve overall emotional well-being.

Whether you are seeking support during a difficult time or looking to make meaningful long-term changes, my goal is to help you build resilience, increase confidence, and develop the tools needed to move forward with greater clarity and purpose.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a welcoming, supportive, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns at your own pace.

During our first meeting, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, your personal history, current challenges, strengths, and what you hope to achieve. I will ask questions to better understand your experiences while also giving you plenty of time to ask questions about the therapy process. Together, we will identify your immediate concerns and begin developing realistic, meaningful goals that align with your values and priorities.

Rather than focusing only on problems, I also emphasize your existing strengths, resilience, and the resources you already possess. Before the session ends, we will collaborate on an initial treatment plan and discuss practical strategies you can begin using between sessions when appropriate.

Clients often leave the first session with a clearer understanding of their challenges, a sense of hope, and a personalized plan for moving forward. My commitment is to provide a compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based approach that helps you feel supported while working toward meaningful and lasting change.
