Great to meet you!

Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Michael Marco, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I work with kids, teens, and adults — ages 5 and up — navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, other mood disorders, and insomnia. My approach starts with a simple question: why is this happening? Sleep, stress, nutrition, movement, school or work demands, and family life all shape how a brain works, and I want the full picture before we decide on a plan. Medication can be a genuinely valuable tool, and I prescribe when it makes sense — but it's one part of the plan, not the whole thing. If you've ever felt rushed through a 15-minute appointment and handed a prescription, I want this to feel different.

My approach to therapy

I'm a big believer in getting to root causes rather than just quieting symptoms. That means digging into what's actually driving how you or your child feels — patterns, habits, sleep, developmental and health history — and building a plan that addresses the source alongside the symptoms. ADHD and insomnia in particular tend to tangle up with everything else, so we'll untangle those threads together. With younger clients, I work closely with parents and caregivers, because what happens between appointments matters as much as what happens in them. I'll be direct, I'll ask a lot of questions, and I'll always explain my reasoning so you know why we're doing what we're doing.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is mostly me listening — your story, what's been hard, what you've already tried, and what you actually want life to look like. From there we build a plan together, which may include medication management, practical strategies, sleep and lifestyle work, or some combination. Expect a real conversation: I'm energetic and talkative, and I'd rather we laugh a few times than sit in awkward silence. That goes for my younger clients too — I want kids to feel like they're being talked with, not about. Seeking help shouldn't feel shameful or overly clinical. It's one of the smartest things a person can do, and I want you leaving every session with something useful in hand.
