Great to meet you!

St. Dymphna Psychological Services

Hello! My name is Michael Medrano. I'm a clinical psychologist--born, raised, and educated in Arizona. My beautiful wife and I have been married for 10 years and we have six (really!) wonderful children.

I have years of experience across a number of different clinical settings including community mental health, outpatient private practice, academic medical centers, and primary care clinics.

So whether it's stress from family or work, difficulty sleeping, coping with chronic illness, trauma, anxiety, depression, or OCD (to name a few), I am willing and able to help you find the solutions you're looking for and the peace that comes with finding them.

While I certainly enjoy working with adults at any age, I do have years of experience and fondness for helping older adults in addressing their particular needs and experiences.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy with an eye to helping clients regain their freedom and autonomy to live the lives they want to live. I aim to be direct, practical, and caring. I want to help you find the best solution possible as quickly as possible. Everyone's goal in therapy is to eventually stop therapy in order to spend that time, equipped with more skills and well-being, living a more enriched life.

I am heavily influenced by a Catholic Christian worldview: human beings all have God-given dignity and deserve the utmost care. I look forward to helping you rediscover order and peace in your life!

What you can expect from me

The first session is our chance to begin to get to know one another a bit and also discuss what brings you to therapy. A question I always ask: What would you want to see change by the end of therapy?
