Great to meet you!

Hola y hello! I am Michael, a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker offering therapy in both English and Spanish across Virginia. I work with adults navigating mood disorders, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, and the everyday stressors that can make life feel overwhelming and heavy. My goal is to equip and empower you to find your voice, better understand your experience, and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.

My approach to therapy

My approach is humanistic at its core: you set the direction, I bring the tools and the support. I draw from CBT, DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness based on what fits your goals. CBT helps us examine the thoughts driving anxiety or low mood. DBT builds skills for emotional regulation and getting through hard moments. ACT helps you respond to difficult thoughts with more flexibility. We adjust as we go because what works for one person rarely works for everyone.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, I will want to learn about you, what brings you here, and what you are hoping to feel or do differently. I will ask questions, listen carefully, and share some initial thoughts on how we might work together. My aim is to make it feel like a real conversation, not a clinical intake. By the end, you will have a clearer sense of your goals and at least a rough map for where we are headed. You do not have to have it all figured out to begin.
