Great to meet you!

I have over 30 years of clinical experience helping people work through: anxiety disorders (such as OCD, Panic Attacks, and Insomnia), depression, navigating friendships and relationships, ADHD (academic issues), infidelity, parenting, family issues, career counseling, trauma, bereavement, health anxiety, dealing with divorce, and low self esteem.

My approach to therapy

I have an eclectic method of therapy where I tend to draw from a variety of approaches such as: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT which has been shown to help people identify and challenge thought patterns that lead to overly anxious, or depressive moods), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT which has been shown to help people learn to regulate their emotions), and Psychodynamic Therapy (which focuses on how interactions with our caregivers during childhood impact our opinions of ourselves in the present). I will choose techniques that have tended to work well with people struggling with similar issues. I tend to be very active in therapy. I will ask plenty of questions, give you opportunity to elaborate on your issue(s), present as much helpful information as I can, and make some suggestions to help you overcome whatever may be troubling you.

What you can expect from me

The quickest way to reach me for a same day response is to text me at: (631) 374-9945 to schedule a free brief phone consultation to ensure that I have experience with the issues you're having and can be of help to you. You may also email me at: [email protected], but the response will be slower. I like to use the first session to make a list of the things you'd like to improve in your life. Then I believe my role is to make suggestions to help you achieve the goals we've identified. My aim is to begin making some suggestions by the close of the first visit and to determine if you're comfortable with my style of therapy.
