Great to meet you!

I'm Michael, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner passionate about providing integrated care for complex mental health challenges, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, OCD, personality disorders, PTSD and trauma, schizophrenia and psychosis disorders, substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, panic disorders, mood disorders, and bipolar conditions. My practice recognizes that these conditions are deeply interconnected in ways requiring specialized understanding.

I chose to specialize across this broad spectrum because I understand how neurodivergence intersects with trauma responses, how personality patterns emerge as adaptive mechanisms, how substance use can complicate other presentations, and how psychotic symptoms may develop in vulnerable individuals. Whether you're in recovery while managing other conditions, discovering neurodivergence later in life, or dealing with multiple diagnoses that influence each other, I bring the expertise needed to see the complete picture.

My approach emphasizes both evidence-based treatments and the healing power of being truly understood by someone who isn't intimidated by complexity. I recognize that seeking help for multiple or stigmatized conditions takes tremendous courage, especially after disappointing experiences with other providers who may have felt overwhelmed by your needs.

What you can expect from our collaboration is thorough assessment, personalized treatment, and ongoing support as we navigate your unique mental health journey. My goal is helping you build resilience, develop effective strategies, and create the fulfilling life you deserve.

My approach to therapy

I approach psychiatric care with gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility, recognizing that you are placing something profoundly personal in my hands — your mental health and emotional well-being. My practice is grounded in compassion, clinical excellence, and genuine partnership. I foster an environment that is safe, welcoming, and completely free of judgment, where you feel comfortable sharing your story openly, assured you will be met with empathy and respect at every turn.

My medication management philosophy revolves around personalized, purposeful care. I reject one-size-fits-all methods or rushed prescribing without truly understanding your situation. Instead, I dedicate time to learning about you — your symptoms, history, daily life, values, and treatment hopes. We examine options together and craft a strategy that authentically aligns with your world.

I am committed to patient education and informed decision-making. I explain how psychiatric medications operate, which symptoms we are targeting, realistic timelines for noticing improvement, and possible side effects. I want you feeling knowledgeable and confident about every dimension of your care.

I track your response with close attention, maintain honest communication regarding progress and concerns, and adjust our direction to strengthen outcomes. When something is not delivering what we anticipated, we problem-solve as a team and explore alternative paths.

I embrace holistic psychiatry, examining how sleep, nutrition, movement, stress, relationships, and everyday routines influence medication effectiveness. I remain accessible between appointments and coordinate with your other providers when collaboration proves beneficial.

My aim is fostering meaningful advancement in your well-being, functioning, and sense of restored hope. You deserve attentive, compassionate care, and together we will work toward a life that feels genuinely fulfilling and unmistakably yours.

What you can expect from me

During your first appointment, you will meet a provider who views you as a whole person, not simply a set of symptoms. We will begin with what matters most to you—the mental health concerns that led you to seek care. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, mood fluctuations, or concentration challenges, I will listen with intention and ask meaningful questions to fully understand your experience, including how symptoms are affecting your work, relationships, self-care, interests, and overall quality of life.

I will collect a thorough history, asking when symptoms first surfaced, how they have shifted over time, what treatments you have pursued, and your previous experiences with mental health care. I will ask about medications you have taken—what was effective, what missed the mark, what side effects you dealt with, and why you discontinued them if applicable. We will also discuss your physical health, current prescriptions, family history of mental health conditions, substance use, and the major stressors currently weighing on you. Understanding your complete background enables me to approach your care with the depth and accuracy it deserves.

When discussing medication options, I will be detailed and transparent. I will explain how various medications operate, why I might suggest specific ones, what benefits to anticipate, and what side effects could emerge. I will offer realistic timelines and outline how we will track your progress together. I practice collaborative prescribing—decisions are shaped by your preferences, concerns, and goals.

We will also explore exercise, sleep habits, stress management, and social support, with every strategy selected with your individual life in mind. You will leave with a clear, personalized treatment plan that honors your uniqueness and the assurance of knowing you have a committed partner in your wellness journey. That partnership starts the moment you walk through the door.
