Great to meet you!

It's great to meet you. Here's a little about me: Like my parents, I became a therapist after getting my Masters Degree from the University of Kansas. My career taught me how movement, food and sleep affect a person's mental health. This lead me to treat eating disorders. I've been practicing for a decade and I see clients in Kansas & Missouri. I work with adults who have an eating disorder. I'd like to offer you a 15-min consult where we'll continue this conversation to see if we're a good fit.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My goal is to help you overcome the eating disorder. I use cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) which means that I will help you learn how your thoughts and beliefs impact your emotions and behaviors. To treat eating disorders, I use a special kind of CBT called Enhanced CBT (CBT-E). CBT-E therapy lasts 20-40 weeks and is designed to help you learn skills that will not only challenge your thinking but allow you to dismantle the viscous cycle maintaining the eating problem.

What you can expect from our first session

Our first session is straight forward. We'll get to know each other and then I'll ask you questions about the eating problem. Next, we'll design a plan of action and then each session after that will be spent learning and practicing the skills and strategies to help you break the cycle that's maintaining the eating problem. Before you know it, you'll be doing much better.
