Great to meet you!

Hello, my name is Michael and I own Resiliency Counseling LLC. I have been in the mental health field for the past 18 years and graduated with my Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado in 2012. My training included individual counseling, family counseling, couples therapy, and play therapy while in my master's program. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addiction Counselor in the state of Colorado. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and in the state of Georgia.

My approach to therapy

I approach therapy from a person-centered perspective and utilize other modalities: DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and SFBT. I believe that healing happens best in a space where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and accepted. My role is not to “fix” you, but to walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward the life you want to live.

I work with clients using a trauma-informed, resilience-focused approach that honors your pace and your story. Whether you are navigating anxiety, past trauma, stress, or life transitions, therapy is a collaborative process where we focus on building safety, self-understanding, and emotional balance. I integrate mindfulness and practical coping tools when helpful, always guided by what feels most supportive for you.

At the heart of my work is the belief that you already have the capacity for growth and healing. Together, we create a supportive space where resilience can develop naturally through compassion, connection, and trust to build your resilient self.

I specialize in issues regarding: Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia and other Psychotic related disorders, Personality Disorders, Men's Issues, Adolescent issues, Relationships, PTSD, Trauma, Crisis and Safety Issues.

What you can expect from me

You can expect in our first session for me to gather as much data as possible about your current situation and identifying goals you would like to work on. This session is our first step in building the therapeutic relationship and is the groundwork for our work to start together.
