Great to meet you!

As someone who has not only studied mental health but also lived in this world, I can relate to the challenges one may face in seeking someone to communicate with one on one. I applaud you for taking that step to reclaim some control and improve your outlook. I have been in the mental health field in various roles for the past 20 years, working with adults and children. While I am welcoming to everyone, I am particularly passionate about working with

those in the LGBTQIA+ community who may feel they have not had anyone who truly understands them. That matters to me. You have come to the right place.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, open minded, and direct. I draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) to help you recognize thought patterns that may be working against you, and Motivational Interviewing to explore what you truly want for

yourself. I will actively listen, offer honest feedback, and challenge some of your thinking when it serves you. It can be hard work, but you will not navigate it alone.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, the floor is yours. I want you to feel safe and heard. I want you to share your story, as much or as little as you feel comfortable. In sharing your story, we can then work together to see what your goals are and how we can work to get you there. From there, if you feel safe and want to continue, in future sessions we will continue to work together on ways to achieve those goals.
