Great to meet you!

Michael Sanya, DNP, PMHNP-BC, is a doctorally prepared, board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to adolescents and adults ages 13 and older. Since 2011, he has helped individuals navigate anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, mood concerns, substance use, stress, and major life transitions, among others.

Michael believes that effective mental health care begins with feeling heard, understood, and respected. His approach is warm, collaborative, and practical, combining thoughtful listening with individualized treatment tailored to each person’s symptoms, goals, and circumstances.

He works closely with clients to understand what may be contributing to their challenges and to identify treatment options that support meaningful, sustainable improvement.

Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, struggling to focus, experiencing changes in your mood, or simply feeling unlike yourself, Michael provides a supportive space to explore your concerns, gain clarity, and take meaningful steps toward improved emotional well-being and quality of life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is compassionate, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s individual needs. I work with adolescents and adults ages 13 and older experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, Bipolar Disorder, and other mental health concerns. Using evidence-based treatment, supportive therapy, and solution-focused strategies, I take time to understand your symptoms, goals, and life circumstances before developing a personalized treatment plan. My goal is to create a safe, judgment-free space where you feel heard and supported while gaining practical tools to improve daily functioning, strengthen emotional well-being, and make meaningful progress toward lasting recovery.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect their first session to be welcoming, collaborative, and judgment-free. I will take time to understand what you’re experiencing, discuss your concerns and goals, and identify the areas where you would most like to see improvement. Together, we’ll develop a personalized treatment plan that feels realistic and supportive. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, understood, and with a clearer path forward toward improved mental health and well-being.
