Great to meet you!

Life can be difficult. Learning to accept that life is difficult can help us transcend the difficulties by acknowledging them and accepting them without excuses or giving them permission. Trauma can produce many of life's difficulties and lead to maladaptive coping strategies. I blend psychodynamic theories with several cognitive approaches to help my clients work through the trauma, gain more emotional regulation, and establish coping strategies that create a life worth living.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is to blend psychodynamic and cognitive methods that identify the antecedents, development, and maintenances of the areas of concern. Interventions specific to the client's needs are developed, which include between session assignments and in-session processing. The goal is to develop a life worth living through challenging maladaptive personal narratives and changing how we judge ourselves and others.

What you can expect from me

Real change is possible. Change that goes beyond just feeling better. The goals are to live better and work through the obstacles that prevent a values driven life. There is one overarching goal for therapy, and that is to create a sense of well being that is sustainable through the most difficult aspects of life. Clients can expect to be challenged to work through the old maladaptive narratives and realize their personal potential to live with meaning and purpose.
