Great to meet you!

Seeking therapy can feel like a big step, and finding the right therapist is an important part of the process. I provide a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore life's challenges and work toward meaningful change.

I earned my Master's degree in Counseling from West Texas A&M University in 1992 and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 1996. Early in my career, I worked with couples, and individuals in a variety of clinical settings. I primarily work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness, and relationship challenges.

In addition to my clinical work, I have spent many years in healthcare leadership, giving me firsthand insight into the pressures of demanding careers, major life transitions, and balancing personal and professional responsibilities. I understand how these challenges can affect emotional well-being and relationships.

My approach is collaborative, practical, and tailored to your unique needs. Together, we'll identify your strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and create a plan that helps you move toward the life you want. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for greater balance and fulfillment, I'm here to support you every step of the way.

My approach to therapy

I believe that therapy works best when you feel safe, understood, and accepted without judgment. My approach is collaborative and practical. I don't believe in simply listening and sending you on your way. Together, we'll explore what's contributing to your current challenges, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop realistic strategies to help you move forward.

I primarily work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, loneliness, relationship concerns, and life transitions. Whether you're struggling with persistent worry, feeling overwhelmed, navigating a difficult relationship, or simply feeling disconnected from the life you want, I'll meet you where you are and help you build the skills and confidence to create lasting change.

I tailor therapy to each person's unique needs, recognizing that no two individuals or situations are the same. I integrate evidence-based approaches with compassion, encouragement, and accountability, helping clients gain insight while also focusing on practical solutions they can apply in everyday life.

My goal is to help you not only feel better but also develop the resilience, self-awareness, and tools to navigate future challenges with greater confidence. Therapy is a partnership, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they work toward healthier relationships, improved emotional well-being, and a more fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my priority is getting to know you, not just the challenges that brought you to therapy, but also your strengths, experiences, and what you hope to achieve. We'll spend time discussing what's been going on in your life, how your concerns are affecting your daily functioning, and any relevant personal, relationship, or family history that will help me better understand your situation.

This is also an opportunity for you to get to know me and ask any questions you may have about the therapy process. I believe the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of success, so it's important that you feel comfortable, heard, and understood.

By the end of our first session, we'll begin identifying your goals for therapy and discuss a plan for moving forward together. While meaningful change takes time, many clients leave their first appointment feeling relieved to have shared their story, gained a better understanding of their concerns, and taken an important first step toward positive change.

My goal is for you to leave our first session with hope, a sense of direction, and the confidence that you don't have to face life's challenges alone.
