Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Dr. Mike Stanton. I help adults and couples navigate anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, health concerns, and career decisions with practical, evidence-based therapy. My style is warm, collaborative, and goal-oriented, and I work with each client to build on their strengths while creating meaningful, lasting change. I offer virtual therapy throughout California.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy works best when it's collaborative, practical, and tailored to your goals. Together, we'll explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, build on your strengths, and develop skills that help you navigate challenges with greater confidence and resilience. I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and attachment-based therapies, always adapting treatment to fit your unique needs. Whether you're facing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, health concerns, or a major life transition, my goal is to help you create meaningful, lasting change.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll talk about your current concerns, your personal history, your strengths, and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together. My goal is to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable being yourself. By the end of the session, we'll have a clearer understanding of your goals and develop a plan for moving forward together.
