Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Michaella. I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a graduate background in Professional Counseling from Florida International University. My clinical experience includes supporting adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation, self-esteem, relationships, and neurodivergence.

As a Hispanic and bilingual therapist, I recognize how our identities, cultural backgrounds, and lived experiences shape the way we see ourselves and navigate the world. I'm especially passionate about supporting neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ individuals, those struggling with self-acceptance, and anyone who has ever felt different, misunderstood, or pressured to fit into certain expectations. I believe you shouldn't have to change who you are to feel accepted. Therapy can be a space to embrace your individuality, build self-compassion, and feel comfortable showing up as your authentic self, even the parts you've been taught to hide.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is person-centered, trauma-informed, and collaborative. I believe meaningful growth begins with understanding ourselves and approaching our experiences with curiosity rather than judgment. I incorporate evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, DBT, TF-CBT, and Motivational Interviewing, tailoring our work to your individual needs, strengths, and goals. My goal is to create an affirming, supportive environment where you can build self-awareness, develop new skills, challenge unhelpful patterns, and work toward meaningful changes at your own pace.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, explore what brings you to therapy, and begin identifying your goals. We'll discuss your experiences, current concerns, strengths, and what you hope to gain from therapy. You'll also have space to ask questions and share any concerns about the process. There's no pressure to have everything figured out or share everything all at once. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, with the goal of building a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, heard, and supported.
