Great to meet you!

What should your clients know about you?

I’m Michaelle Valcourt, PMHNP-BC, a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for children, teens, and adults. My clinical approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in helping you feel seen, supported, and understood.

I completed my MSN at Walden University and have extensive experience working in community mental health, telepsychiatry, and integrated care settings. My background in child and adolescent behavioral health inspired much of my work today, including my published children’s books focused on emotional intelligence and coping skills.

I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, insomnia, trauma-related symptoms, women’s mental health, and stress-related conditions. I prioritize a holistic approach that blends medication management, lifestyle support, and therapeutic guidance to help you feel more balanced and in control of your life. My goal is always to create a safe, judgment-free space where you can openly express yourself and work toward meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each individual. I believe that effective mental health treatment starts with truly listening and understanding your lived experience. Together, we explore what’s working, what’s not, and what goals feel meaningful for you right now.

I use a holistic, evidence-based approach that blends medication management with practical therapeutic strategies such as CBT-informed tools, coping-skill development, and lifestyle guidance. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, insomnia, trauma-related symptoms, and mood disorders, with a strong focus on helping clients improve emotional regulation, stress tolerance, and overall daily functioning.

I strive to create a calm, judgment-free environment where you feel safe, supported, and empowered. I move at your pace, communicate clearly, and check in regularly to make sure your treatment plan continues to serve your needs. My goal is for every client to feel heard, validated, and confident as they work toward healing, stability, and long-term wellness.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, my goal is to create a calm, welcoming, judgment-free space where you feel comfortable opening up at your own pace. I take time to understand your concerns, your history, and most importantly how your symptoms are affecting your daily life. This is a collaborative conversation, not an interview. I’m here to listen, support, and help you feel grounded.

During this visit, we’ll clarify your goals, discuss what you hope to change or improve, and begin shaping a treatment plan that feels realistic and personalized to you. I explain everything clearly from medication options to lifestyle supports, so you always understand your choices and feel empowered in the process.

By the end of the session, clients usually walk away with a sense of direction, relief, and a clear understanding of our next steps together. My focus is to ensure you feel heard, supported, and confident that you're in a safe space to begin your healing journey.
