Great to meet you!

Hello and welcome! My name is Michanya. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults as they navigate life’s challenges and transitions. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, and other difficulties that can feel overwhelming. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and together we can explore your concerns, build on your strengths, develop practical strategies, and work toward meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and solution-oriented. I believe that everyone’s experiences are unique, and I strive to create a safe, open, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. I work with you to better understand your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and patterns while also focusing on practical tools and strategies that can help you feel more confident and in control. I believe therapy should be a partnership, and my goal is to meet you where you are, build on your strengths, and help you move toward greater clarity, balance, and meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and understood. We’ll take some time to talk about what brings you to therapy, what you’re currently experiencing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll also learn more about your background, strengths, and the areas of your life you’d like to focus on. There is no pressure to have everything figured out or to share anything you’re not ready to discuss. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you and begin identifying practical ways to support your goals. Most importantly, I want you to leave feeling that you have found a safe space where we can work together toward positive change. We collaboratively set realistic and achievable goals that promote positive change and personal growth. My virtual practice provides a confidential and comfortable space for clients to engage in therapy from the convenience of their own homes.
