Great to meet you!

Many of the people I work with are accustomed to being the dependable one, yet privately feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck in cycles of worry or intrusive thoughts, or disconnected from themselves or their relationships. Reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, so I strive to provide a calm, down-to-earth space where you can be honest without fear of judgment.

My years in education and as a school counselor shaped my patient, practical, and compassionate approach. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our two golden retrievers, gardening, working on creative projects, and traveling in our RV. I’m also naturally a night owl, so offering late-evening therapy feels like a genuine extension of who I am.

My approach to therapy

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. I want therapy to feel like a genuine conversation—not a clinical interrogation. I use evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, to help clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns, understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and develop healthier ways of coping.

When working with couples, I incorporate principles from the Gottman Method to strengthen communication, manage conflict, rebuild connection, and create shared meaning. I tailor therapy to each client rather than using the same approach for everyone. We will work together to identify what is keeping you stuck and develop realistic strategies that fit your life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity for me to learn about you, what brought you to therapy, and what you hope will be different. We’ll discuss the concerns you are experiencing, relevant background information, and any goals you may already have in mind.

You do not need to arrive with everything figured out or know exactly where to begin. I’ll guide the conversation at a comfortable pace and give you space to ask questions. By the end of the session, we’ll begin identifying priorities and discussing a plan for moving forward together.
