Great to meet you!

Maybe you’ve spent so much time taking care of everything—and everyone—around you that you’re not even sure where you fit anymore.

You may be overwhelmed, anxious, navigating a major life change, or simply feeling stuck and ready for something to be different.

I’m Michele Wolfman, Psy.D., a licensed psychologist with more than two decades of experience in psychology and mental health, including work in clinical and forensic settings, trauma-informed care, mental health treatment and supervision, and graduate-level psychology education.

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors, and times when life simply feels overwhelming.

I have a particular interest in supporting women navigating changing roles, relationships, loss, competing responsibilities, and the challenge of making themselves a priority again.

Together, we can work toward understanding what’s keeping you stuck, developing practical strategies, and creating meaningful, lasting change.

My approach to therapy

Therapy shouldn’t feel like someone is simply listening while you do all the work of figuring out what comes next.

My approach is warm, empowering, and solution-oriented. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable being yourself while also having an active partner who helps you better understand what may be keeping you stuck.

Together, we’ll explore the thoughts, emotions, experiences, and patterns affecting your life and identify practical strategies you can actually use outside of our sessions.

I draw from mindfulness-based approaches, positive psychology, compassion-focused strategies, and trauma-informed care, tailoring therapy to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach.

Whether you’re trying to quiet an anxious mind, cope with a difficult experience, change an unwanted pattern, or simply feel more in control of your life, our work will focus not only on understanding why you feel the way you do, but also on what you can do next.

Sometimes meaningful change starts by giving yourself the space to pause, breathe, reflect, and grow.

What you can expect from me

You don’t need to come to your first session knowing exactly what to say—or even exactly what you want to change.

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and for me to better understand what brought you to therapy, what has been happening in your life, and what you hope might be different.

I’ll ask questions, but there is no pressure to share everything at once. My goal is to create a warm, comfortable, and judgment-free space where you can talk openly and feel heard.

Together, we’ll begin identifying what feels most important to you and where you would like to start. From there, we can develop goals that feel realistic and meaningful and begin building practical strategies you can use in your everyday life.

You don’t have to have it all figured out before you begin. Sometimes showing up is the first step.
