Great to meet you!

For the past 17 years, I have had the privilege of helping people navigate the complicated, messy, and often deeply meaningful work of understanding themselves. I believe therapy does not have to be entirely serious to be meaningful. There is room for humor, curiosity and even a little laughter alongside the hard work. While I will always be an active listener, I also participate in therapy by joining in to reflect, observe and compassionately challenge. My hope is that therapy becomes a space where you can better understand yourself, feel more grounded in your choices and develop the freedom to respond to life rather than simply react to it.

My approach to therapy

My approach is grounded in the belief that our minds and nervous system are constantly trying to protect us. Many of the patterns that can leave us feeling stuck, anxious, disconnected or overwhelmed once served an important purpose. I am interested in helping you understand why these patterns developed, what they may be trying to communicate and whether they still serve you in the life you're living now. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and mindfulness practices. I don't believe there is one right way to do therapy, so our work will be collaborative and tailored to you.

What you can expect from me

The first session is a chance to slow down and begin making sense of what brought you to therapy. We'll talk about what your experiencing, what feels difficult now and what you hope could be different. I'll also want to understand the bigger picture-your history, relationships, patterns, strengthens and experiences that have shaped you. You don't need to arrive with everything figured out. We will work together to identify what matters most and begin developing a clearer understanding of where you feel stuck and where you want to go.
