Great to meet you!

I have spent more than two decades working alongside the people who serve others — law enforcement, child protection, medical professionals, first responders, attorneys, and fellow therapists. Before becoming a therapist, I spent years investigating child crimes and working on multidisciplinary teams with law enforcement and medical providers, so I understand this work from the inside.

I hold a PhD in Psychology, Law, and Public Policy, a master's in Counseling Psychology, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). My dissertation research focused on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and moral injury in law enforcement and child welfare professionals; territory that many of my clients are navigating themselves.

I am EMDR certified, trained in all of the EMDR early intervention protocols, and I've spent over 25 years helping survivors, first responders, and other high-stress professionals work through early difficult life experiences and work-related trauma or critical incidents.

My approach to therapy

I take a trauma-informed, person-centered approach that draws from CBT, EMDR, narrative, and strength-based methods depending on what you need. Cumulative, service-connected trauma calls for a different pace than a single incident or an early-life experience, so we build your plan around you — not a template. I treat you as the expert on your own life and experience, not a passive recipient of treatment, and I'll be honest with you, challenge you when it helps, and support you the rest of the time.

What you can expect from me

We will start with a first session focused on understanding where you are and what you need, not diving straight into the hardest material. We'll talk through your history, what's bringing you in now, and what pace and format fits your life, whether that's steady weekly sessions or a more intensive, short-term EMDR format (multiple sessions per week for clients who want faster resolution without waiting through months of once-a-week appointments). My goal is for you to leave that first conversation with a clear plan and a sense that you're not carrying this alone. I aim to create a steady, non-judgmental space where your expertise and resilience are respected.
