Great to meet you!

For 30 years, I've worked inside schools alongside children and adolescents — as a social worker, an advocate, and someone who genuinely understands how young people think, struggle, and grow. I know what anxiety looks like in a middle schooler. I know how ADHD shows up in a classroom. And I know that the kids and families who need support deserve to get it without spending years trying to find relief.

I'm a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker — a credential I earned in November 2025, after raising two kids of my own while completing every requirement along the way. It took longer than I planned. I wouldn't change it. That experience shapes how I show up for every client.

I hold a Master's in Social Work from the University of Kansas and work as both a school social worker and a therapist, giving me a perspective on young people and families that's grounded in their real, daily lives.

My approach to therapy

My philosophy is simple: get you the relief you deserve and get you on with your life. I'm not a believer in open-ended therapy that goes on for years without clear progress. I use focused, practical approaches that create real change — efficiently.

My toolkit includes:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — for immediate, practical relief from depression, anxiety, and unhelpful thought patterns
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) — identifying what's working and building on it, rather than dwelling endlessly on what isn't
  • Mindfulness — grounding tools that help manage stress and emotional overwhelm in real time
  • Art Therapy — especially effective for younger clients who express themselves better through creativity than conversation

I specialize in depression, anxiety, and ADHD — and I bring 30 years of understanding how these show up in real life, not just clinical settings.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is about getting to know each other — and I mean that both ways. I want to learn everything about you: what you're carrying, what you've tried, and what meaningful change looks like for you.

And I encourage you to ask me about me too. Therapy works best when it's a real relationship, and I want you to feel like you know who you're working with from day one
