Great to meet you!

I’m Michelle Lehto Flores, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a passion for helping people navigate life’s challenges and discover their strengths. My path into the mental health field was shaped by both personal and professional experiences. I know firsthand how difficult it can be to face mental health struggles, and I also know that healing and growth are possible.

I earned my Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2017 and since then, I’ve worked with diverse populations, including individuals living with severe mental illness such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders. Along the way, I’ve supported people through depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and women’s issues.

Above all, I bring compassion, patience, and authenticity to my work. I understand that change isn’t always linear, and I meet clients where they are: with empathy, encouragement, and respect.

My approach to therapy

My approach is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients recognize patterns of thought and behavior, while also using a person-centered, trauma-informed perspective to ensure therapy feels safe, supportive, and empowering.

I believe therapy works best when it’s both structured and flexible. Together, we’ll set goals, build practical coping skills, and create space for insight and healing. I focus on helping you feel more grounded, connected to yourself, and capable of making meaningful changes in your life.

Whether you’re managing symptoms, healing from trauma, or seeking support through a life transition, I aim to provide a space where you feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to walk away with a stronger sense of self-awareness, practical coping skills, and confidence in navigating life’s challenges. Together, we’ll work on managing symptoms, identifying unhelpful patterns, and building healthier ways of thinking and relating to others.

You can also expect to feel supported in your healing process; not just by exploring past experiences, but by developing tools you can use right away in daily life. My goal is that you leave therapy feeling more grounded, more connected to yourself, and more capable of creating the change you want for your future.
