Great to meet you!

I was raised in a Caribbean home and was taught the value of perseverance, hard work and integrity as well as an appreciation for diversity. I learned early that no one person, group, or family is the same; it is this premise that guides my practice to appreciate diversity while remaining culturally-sensitive. This experience also gave insight and understanding of the negative stigma and stereotypes associated with mental health in our communities of color. I am happy this narrative is shifting.

My approach to therapy

First, I believe the therapeutic relationship must be a good fit! My approach thereafter, is client centered, meeting you where you are. This may involve using several evidence based practice approaches to include: trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, or solution focused problem solving strategies to name a few.

What you can expect from me

As we partner together for your care, you can expect a safe, judgment-free, and honest space where your identified strengths will be used to encourage and guide the change you are seeking. The process may become challenging at times, but I will be present with you to guide and support you. Progress is seen as a commitment to the journey of wellness. The first step is to show up.
