Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Michelle Reese, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Colorado. My journey began in Virginia, where I grew up. I completed my Masters in Social Work program at Virginia Commonwealth University in 2008. I spent 10 years working out of DC as a case manager, focusing on under-served populations with diverse backgrounds.

Eventually, life led me west, where I now embrace Colorado’s sunshine and beauty. In therapy sessions, I see a wide variety of adults coping with anxiety, depression, work stressors, relationship issues, substance use and other issues.

My approach to therapy

My therapy approach is honest, direct, and compassionate, with a sprinkle of dark humor. While I will not sugarcoat my feedback, I will root for you without judgment. I utilize a variety of theories in my sessions including CBT, DBT, IFS, Mindfulness, Family Systems, Strengths-based and person-centered. Sessions feel casual, while discussing deep topics and working towards goals of therapy.

What you can expect from me

The first session typically starts with a brief life overview including childhood, family, education and professional updates. We will review aspects of your life including mental health history, substance use and therapy goals.

As sessions progress, I'll provide feedback, teach you skills and encourage you to face your inner self-critic. With some assistance, you can live a life that has balance, purpose and joy!
