Great to meet you!

You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone. I’m a warm, curious, kind, and encouraging therapist who believes authentic connection is the foundation for healing. Clients often describe me as easy to talk to, consistent, open-minded, and relaxed. I also bring humor when it helps and gently challenge you when it counts.

I have 25 years of clinical experience across schools, private practice, juvenile justice, and community mental health. As a special-needs mom, wife, dog lover, and someone living with chronic illness, I understand firsthand the challenges of ongoing health concerns, neurodivergence, life transitions, and systems that affect families.

I work with teens and adults, individuals, couples, and families. I support clients navigating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, trauma, sexual abuse recovery, parenting struggles, family conflict, autism, ADHD, chronic illness, and autoimmune disorders. I offer in-person therapy in Kingwood and virtual therapy throughout Texas.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in Texas, EMDR-trained, and the Founder and Clinical Director of UpWord Counseling. My background includes working as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology with children from pre-kindergarten through high school. I hold a Master of Arts in Psychology from Houston Christian University and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Rice University.

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrative, collaborative, and personalized. I draw from person-centered therapy, CBT, DBT, ACT, Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, existential and attachment-based approaches, and EMDR for trauma work.

Rather than expecting you to fit one method, I adapt evidence-based interventions to your goals, personality, relationships, and needs. Together, we’ll explore patterns, build practical tools, and reconnect with strengths you may have stopped noticing.

I believe people need to feel safe enough to heal before real change can happen. I’ll meet you at your pace while offering support, honesty, and gentle challenge. My goal is for you to feel truly heard and develop a clearer path toward a happier, more authentic life.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building trust. We’ll discuss what brought you to therapy, what you hope will change, and the experiences, relationships, strengths, and stressors shaping your life.

You won’t be expected to have everything figured out or share more than you’re ready to share. I’ll answer your questions, explain how I work, and collaborate with you on manageable next steps. You can expect a warm, relaxed environment where you can be yourself—and leave feeling heard, respected, and more hopeful.
