Something feels off. Maybe it's the anxiety that follows you into every room, the overanalyzing, the what-ifs, the exhaustion of appearing fine when you're anything but. Maybe life has shifted in ways you didn't expect and you're not quite sure who you are on the other side of it. Whatever brought you here, I want you to know, therapy with me is a safe place.

I'm MJ Wright, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC, LADC-1, LPC) and I work with adults and teens across Massachusetts. My approach is warm, unhurried and deeply individualized. You will never feel like a diagnosis here.

I can help if you're experiencing:

Anxiety that won't quiet down such as overthinking, chronic worry and physical tension.

The pressure of appearing capable while feeling overwhelmed inside.

Difficult life changes such as a career shift, a relationship ending, mother or father hood or even a version of yourself still waiting to emerge.

The weight of past experiences showing up in your present life.

Identity questions, bicultural stress or intergenerational family pressure.

My approach to therapy

My approach starts with one simple belief, you are not broken. You are a whole person who has adapted to difficult circumstances and those adaptations made sense at the time. Therapy is not about fixing you. It's about understanding yourself more deeply and deciding how you want to move forward.

I draw from several evidence-informed approaches in my sessions, such as: Brainspotting for processing what lives beneath the surface, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for understanding patterns and thoughts that keep you stuck, and mindfulness-based tools to help your nervous system find steadiness.

What you can expect from me

In our first session I will ask some gentle questions about what brought you in, what life has felt like lately and what you are hoping therapy might offer you. You are welcome to share as much or as little as feels comfortable. There is no pressure to go deep right away.

This first conversation is as much for you as it is for me. I want you to get a real sense of who I am, how I work and whether this feels like the right fit. A good therapeutic relationship is the foundation of everything and I never want you to feel like you have to stay somewhere that doesn't feel right.

By the end of our first session you will have a clearer sense of what our work together might look like, how we might move forward and if you think we might be a good fit.

There is no perfect way to show up to therapy. You can come as you are, uncertain, overwhelmed or unsure of where to even begin. That is exactly what this space is here for.
