Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Mikaela. I provide individual telehealth therapy for teens and young adults (ages 13–30) in Florida and Nebraska. I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, behavioral challenges, and substance use concerns.

Many of the individuals I support feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhealthy patterns, or unsure how to manage intense emotions. I help clients better understand what is driving these difficulties and develop practical skills so daily life feels more manageable and stable.

My approach to therapy

I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Treatment focuses on identifying unhelpful thought patterns, improving emotional regulation, and building practical coping skills for everyday situations.

My style is compassionate, collaborative, and active. I support clients while also helping them make meaningful changes outside of sessions. I incorporate mindfulness, strength-based strategies, and family involvement when appropriate, recognizing that progress often happens both in and between sessions. The goal is practical growth that improves daily functioning, relationships, and overall stability.

What you can expect from me

In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and understanding what brought you to therapy. I’ll ask questions about your current concerns, background, and goals so we can begin identifying what you’d like to work on. You won’t be expected to share anything before you’re ready.

You can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can speak openly. My approach is compassionate and collaborative, while also helping you begin thinking about practical steps forward. By the end of the session, we’ll clarify next steps and outline an initial plan that feels realistic and manageable.
