Great to meet you!

I'm not here to sit back and nod while you do all the work. Therapy with me is a partnership — I'm genuinely in it with you, trying to understand what your experiences have taught you and how they're showing up in your life now.

Much of my work is with survivors — people carrying trauma, grief, or losses that changed the shape of their world. I don't believe you need to relive every detail to heal, and I won't push you somewhere you're not ready to go. What I offer instead is steadiness: someone who can sit with the weight of what happened to you without flinching, and help you find your way back to yourself at a pace that's actually yours.

I lead with curiosity, not judgment. I believe people don't heal in isolation — they heal in connection, in being known and accepted exactly as they are. So that's what I try to offer: real presence, honesty when it's needed, and compassion even on the days you're hardest on yourself.

You don't need to perform wellness for me or hide the messy parts. Bring all of it. That's where the real work — and the real relief — actually happens.

My approach to therapy

I help people untangle relational struggles, religious trauma, substance use, grief, survivorship, and the mental health challenges that tend to show up tangled together. A lot of that work is connecting the dots: how your past is quietly running the show in your present, shaping your reactions, your trust, your boundaries.

I'm especially passionate about helping people rebuild self-trust, set boundaries that actually stick, and get curious about their emotions instead of shutting them down. When trauma or grief is part of the picture, we move at your pace — never rushed, never pushed past what you're ready for.

Above all, this is a space where every part of you is welcome. Whatever you carry, it gets to come with you into the room.

What you can expect from me

If you're reading this on a hard day — lost, overwhelmed, not sure where to start — the first session won't ask you to have it figured out. You just need to show up.

Mikayla will ask what brought you in and what's felt hard lately. That's it. No script. Some people talk the whole hour; some need quiet space to begin. Both are okay.

What matters most is that you leave feeling heard — not just your words, but what's underneath them. That's where change starts. Everything after builds from there, at your pace.

You don't have to be ready. You just have to be willing to start.
