Great to meet you!

I'm a licensed clinical psychologist based in Brooklyn, NY working with adolescents, adults, and couples. As a queer Jew, my practice is rooted in an anti-oppressive, liberatory framework. I believe therapy must begin with a relationship that is honest and nonjudgmental, and that takes care of the tender parts of us while also attending to the need for growth and evolution. I work well with folx who've experienced marginalization, trauma, depression, anxiety, or who find themselves struggling with authenticity - both within themselves and in their relationships.

My approach to therapy

My first focus is always on building a trusting and open relationship. We will identify the patterns that keep you stuck and how they came to be in order to alleviate your suffering as it currently exists. Through the relationship, I work with clients to empower themselves to move through life more freely, consciously, and in deeper relationship to others. I have extensive experience working with issues related to gender, race, sexuality, and polyamory.

What you can expect from me

During the consultation, we'll get a sense of each other's personality, and I'll ask you to try to articulate what's brought you to therapy. I believe that for therapy to be effective, we must be on the same page, have the same goals in mind, have a clear understanding of how we will work toward them, and have a level of transparency so that we can collaborate and understand how the work is going. I always encourage feedback and reflection with my clients.

My clients often describe me as warm, challenging, dedicated, intense, and fun. This combination might not be for everyone. Figuring that out together is what the consultation process is for.
