Great to meet you!

Milira Cox is a relational therapist, researcher, and owner of Empowered to Evolve, LLC based in New Jersey. Milira is licensed as a marriage and family therapist in New Jersey, New York, Illinois, and Massachusetts. The work that she finds most gratifying is with Black women who are finding their place in life and redefining their roles within interpersonal relationships and in other settings.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I believe that there are two things in life that are constant – change and time. Life is full of changes and we as humans are forever evolving. How we respond to change and stressful times can determine if we will struggle or thrive. As a therapist I am passionate about helping Black women navigate through changes and times of transition at every stage of life.

What you can expect from our first session

Milira adopts a partnership model in which clients are viewed as the expert in their lives. Clients partner with Milira to engage in individual relational psychotherapy. This method of therapy challenges clients to explore how all of their relationships have an impact on their mental health and overall well-being. Clients leave sessions feeling validated, secure in their decisions, empowered to set boundaries, in tune with their intuition and aligned with their personal values.
