I am Dr. Mimi Mincer, better known by my clients and colleagues as Dr M. I am a seasoned mental health professional and transformational life coach with over 20 years of experience. I have dedicated my career to helping individuals, families, and children navigate emotional and relational challenges. I hold a Doctoral degree from Capella University and a Master’s degree from Stockton University. My doctoral research on parental alienation has led me to pursue a deeper understanding of the harmful impact this family system disruption has on the family as a whole. This work has served as the foundation for strengthening my expertise in high-conflict family dynamics and has provided me with the advanced knowledge I bring to both my clinical practice and my professional peer consultations.

My approach to therapy

I specialize in helping clients heal from narcissistic trauma, parental alienation, family scapegoating abuse, and relational conflict. My approach blends Family Systems Therapy (FST), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Informed Care to foster growth, understanding, and emotional balance. I believe that therapy works best when it’s built on trust, safety, and genuine connection. My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to share their stories. With expertise in high-conflict family dynamics, crisis intervention, and communication skills, I guide clients through life’s challenges to help them find healing and restore harmony within themselves and their relationships.

What you can expect from me

During your first session with me, clients can expect a compassionate and structured introduction to the therapeutic process in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. Together, we will explore your challenges, clarify your goals, and begin developing a personalized plan for growth and emotional balance. I create individually tailored workbooks with daily prompts that incorporate DBT and CBT skills, enabling clients to practice emotional identification, distress tolerance, and mindfulness even outside of weekly sessions. This approach ensures that therapeutic work continues consistently between appointments, fostering lasting progress.
