Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Mina! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University and my master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Capella University. Throughout my career, I've had the opportunity to work with people experiencing a variety of emotional and behavioral challenges, including inpatient intensive care. I believe that meaningful progress begins with a therapeutic relationship built on trust, respect, and genuine connections.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and calming, I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), client-centered, solution-focused, and family therapy approaches, but I believe therapy should be tailored to the person and their individual needs. I help clients identify connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We focus on personalized strategies for the challenges you are facing.

What you can expect from me

The therapy setting I create is a safe space where you can be yourself, and be honest about what you are experiencing. Our first session is spent getting to know one another. I'll spend time learning about you, what you are seeking therapy for, and what has been going on in your life and what you would like to be different. We may talk about current concerns, important relationships, personal and family history, past therapeutic experiences, and strengths or supports you already have. At the end of the first session, my goal is for us to have a clearer understanding of what you're experiencing, and work together to create a plan to move forward. You don't need to arrive with everything figured out or know exactly what your goal in therapy is. We can identify those together! After every session, I want you to feel heard and understood while also leaving sessions with clarity, confidence, and tools that you can continue to use outside of therapy.
