Great to meet you!

My name is Minerva Bonin. I grew up in Lubbock, TX and graduated from Monterey High School in 1978. After being away from Lubbock for more than 20 years, I returned in 2001 and settled down. I went to Wayland Baptist University and graduated with a BAS in Justice Administration in 2013 before continuing on for my Master of Arts in Counseling. I graduated with my MA in 2015 and completed my 3000 clinical hours, earning my license in 2017.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I am a Christian Licensed Professional Counselor who has a desire to bring hope to the hurting, freedom to the oppressed, uplifting to the down-cast, and healing to the brokenhearted. Beacon of Redemptive Power Counseling, P.L.L.C. (BRP Counseling) was created out of this desire. I treat each client individually with respect and dignity primarily using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Talk Therapy and EMDR. I specialize in treating trauma.

What you can expect from our first session

My office is set with a warm ambiance to help each client feel welcome and unjudged. My goal with each individual client is to help them reach their personal goals whether it is to heal from a past childhood trauma, the recent death of a loved one, a divorce, an assault, or any trauma. I work with clients to help them learn coping skills to help them deal with anxiety, depression, or PTSD.
