Great to meet you!

I am Mira Iheme, Ph.D., a doctoral-level clinician with over 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy to individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Throughout my career, I have been deeply committed to helping clients navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful, lasting change.

My therapeutic approach is solution-focused, collaborative, and strengths-based, grounded in the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth and healing. I am known for my energetic, highly positive, and optimistic style, which helps foster a supportive and empowering therapeutic environment. I work actively with clients to identify goals, develop practical strategies, and move toward improved emotional well-being and life satisfaction.

I thrive in helping clients make positive life transitions, overcome obstacles, and reconnect with their sense of purpose and inner strength. I am passionate about meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them as they progress on their personal wellness journey. It is my privilege to support clients as they work toward greater balance, clarity, and fulfillment in their lives.

My approach to therapy

My work with clients is collaborative, solution-focused, and goal-oriented, grounded in respect for each individual’s lived experience and cultural background. I bring an energetic, positive, and optimistic therapeutic style, while maintaining a calm, clinically attuned presence that allows clients to feel supported, understood, and empowered.

I believe that meaningful change occurs when clients feel both emotionally validated and practically equipped. In our work together, I help clients clarify their concerns, identify strengths, and develop actionable strategies to address life challenges. I actively engage clients in the therapeutic process, encouraging insight, self-reflection, and forward movement toward clearly defined goals.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to begin building a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic relationship. My goal is to help you feel comfortable, heard, and respected from the very beginning. I create an environment that is welcoming, nonjudgmental, and culturally responsive, where you can openly share your concerns at your own pace.

During our initial meeting, I will take time to learn about what brings you to therapy, your current challenges, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We will discuss relevant personal, emotional, and life history as needed, while remaining focused on your present needs and immediate priorities. I am attentive, engaged, and active in the session, offering clarity, encouragement, and gentle guidance when appropriate.

Together, we will begin to identify clear goals for therapy, which may include increasing emotional balance, improving coping skills, gaining insight, or making positive life changes. I emphasize practical, solution-focused strategies and aim for clients to leave the first session with a sense of direction, hope, and confidence in the therapeutic process.

Above all, the first session sets the tone for our work: an empowering partnership focused on growth, resilience, and forward movement. Clients often report feeling more grounded, understood, and optimistic about their ability to navigate challenges after our initial meeting.
