Great to meet you!

I believe that everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported throughout their mental health journey. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 30 years of experience in psychiatric nursing, nursing education, and mental health care, I am passionate about helping individuals improve their emotional well-being and achieve a better quality of life.

My approach to psychiatric care is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I understand that seeking mental health treatment can feel overwhelming, and I strive to create a welcoming, judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable discussing your concerns and goals.

I work with adults experiencing a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, life transitions, and other psychiatric concerns. Through comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, thoughtful medication management, and individualized treatment planning, I work alongside each patient to find an approach that fits their unique needs.

I earned my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and completed my post-master's certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at the University of South Alabama.

Above all, I believe that successful mental health treatment begins with a trusting relationship between patient and provider. My goal is not simply to address symptoms, but to help you feel empowered, regain confidence, and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.

I look forward to working together to help you achieve your mental health goals.

My approach to therapy

My approach to care is rooted in compassion, collaboration, and the belief that every individual deserves to feel heard, respected, and understood. I recognize that no two people experience mental health challenges in the same way, which is why I take the time to listen, understand your concerns, and develop a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and goals.

I believe in treating the whole person, not just the symptoms. By combining evidence-based psychiatric care, thoughtful medication management, and a supportive, nonjudgmental environment, I strive to help you achieve meaningful and lasting improvements in your mental health.

I view our relationship as a partnership where your voice matters. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, or other mental health concerns, my goal is to help you feel empowered, supported, and confident as we work together toward greater emotional well-being and a better quality of life.

What you can expect from me

Your first appointment with me is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a trusting, supportive relationship. My goal is to create a comfortable, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where you feel heard, respected, and understood.

During our initial visit, we'll take time to discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, medications, and any challenges you may be experiencing. I'll also want to learn about your personal goals and what you hope to achieve through treatment.

Together, we'll develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive interventions, and other evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs. I encourage questions and open communication, and I want you to feel actively involved in decisions about your care.

Most importantly, you can expect to be treated with kindness, compassion, and respect. Seeking help is an important step, and I'm here to support you as we work toward improving your mental health and overall well-being.
