Great to meet you!

Sessions begin with listening, not just to what is happening now but to the full story: your symptoms, your history, what has worked before, and what has not. I practice in a way that integrates medication management with evidence-based therapeutic support, because for most people neither works best alone. You will never feel rushed, and every decision about your care is made together, with honesty, and with your goals as the guide.

My approach to therapy

When mental health and physical health are tangled together, finding someone who understands both is rare. With over 25 years in medicine, I am dual certified in Psychiatry and Family Practice, bringing a genuine whole-person perspective to psychiatric care. I work with adults across Alaska on mood disorders, anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, and insomnia. My practice is built on the connection between mind and body: what happens in one shapes the other, and good psychiatric care has to account for both.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a conversation, not a checklist. I want to understand not just what is happening now but the full picture: your symptoms, your history, what you have already tried, and what your day-to-day actually looks like. Together we will map out what a realistic care plan looks like, whether that involves medication, supportive strategies, or both. By the end you will have a clear sense of the next steps, and I hope a sense that you are working with someone who genuinely sees your situation.
