Great to meet you!

I'm Dr. Miu Ezra Hart (he/they), a licensed psychologist based in Seattle specializing in trauma therapy for LGBTQ+ individuals, adolescents, and young adults. I earned my PhD in School Psychology from the University of Washington, where my research explored arts-based mindfulness as a culturally sustaining practice. My background spans private practice, hospitals, community mental health, and schools, and I've worked with people across a wide range of experiences and life stages. I work primarily through an Internal Family Systems (IFS) lens, along with Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and psychodynamic approaches. If you are looking for a therapist who is compassionate, curious, and trusts the client as the expert of their own experience, let's connect!

My approach to therapy

My approach is integrated, relational, and depth-oriented, with a focus on understanding how early experiences and old wounds shape our present selves. Using IFS, I help clients get to know the different "parts" of themselves with openness instead of judgment. Above all, I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is healing, and I prioritize building a space where you feel genuinely safe, seen, and empowered in your process.

What you can expect from me

In our first session together, I'll want to understand what's bringing you to therapy now, what you've tried before, and what you're hoping your life might look like on the other side of this work. We'll start to map out what feels most important to address, and I'll share about how I work so you can get a sense of whether my approach feels like a fit for you. There's no expectation to have it all figured out; many clients come in knowing something isn't working, but not yet knowing what they need. I believe in meeting the client where they're at, wherever that may be.
