Great to meet you!

Dr. Soliman. MD, PhD, MBA, MSc.

I am a staff psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital.

I hold an MD and MBA from Cornell University, as well as a PhD in Genetics from the University of Toronto. I pursued a fellowship in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.

My approach to therapy

I specialize primarily in mood disorders (bipolar and depression) and sport psychiatry. I follow an integrative treatment approach that combines medications with personalized therapy strategies to support recovery.

I combine my clinical experience in psychiatry, therapy with my experience as International Coaching Federation life coach to help you translate self-knowledge into meaningful change.

What you can expect from me

The first session is primarily focused on gathering your history while beginning to understand you as a person. We review your current concerns, mood patterns, sleep, energy, and relevant background.

For many patients, especially with mood or bipolar spectrum conditions, diagnostic clarity is essential and may take 1–3 sessions. Rather than rushing to a label, we take the time to build an accurate picture that can guide a more effective treatment plan.

You can expect a balance of structured questions and space to share what feels most important. By the end of the initial phase, we clarify what is going on and discuss next steps.

For therapy, some people prefer focused, goal-oriented work over 8–12 weeks. Others choose longer-term therapy to better understand recurring emotional cycles and how to shift them more sustainably.
