Great to meet you!

Starting therapy can be tough, so just being here is already a big first step—well done. My specialties are working with children and teens experiencing anxiety, OCD, trauma, and selective mutism. I also have lots of experience addressing depression, behavioral issues, ADHD, autism, parenting challenges, eating disorders, and other concerns, as well as working with adults. I’m a tri-lingual licensed clinical psychologist (PhD) dedicated to providing high-quality, evidence-based care. You can rest assured that I'm pulling from best practices, as I have published research on improving the quality of mental health services and I also supervise and train other therapists.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I aim to ensure you feel heard, validated, supported, and that we are addressing your goals. I am very non-judgmental, trauma-informed, and culturally respectful. I often involve caregivers when working with youth and tailor treatment to empower you with skills so that, over time, you can become your own therapist. I adapt to your needs and pull from my trainings and certifications in various evidence-based practices for children, adolescents, and their parents and families.

What you can expect from our first session

We can start with a free 15-minute consultation call to help you feel confident about whether I’d be a good fit for you. If not, I would happily make suggestions to guide you in finding a therapist that would better fit your preferences, especially since understanding the different types of providers can be confusing. In our first session, I’ll ask what brought you in, how you prefer we approach things, and focus on addressing the goals we identify. Therapy goals my clients have achieved have included no longer avoiding something, making friends, improving relationships, speaking up, reducing certain behaviors, sleeping better, increasing specific behaviors, feeling happier, focusing more, worrying less, processing trauma, improving in school, and accepting oneself, situations, or others. Your goals may change over time, and that’s okay. You can count on my support through it all.
