Great to meet you!

Hi! I'm Molly. I love being a therapist and feel so honored to be trusted with the tender work of healing. I'm a licensed clinical social worker, which basically just means that I'm a therapist who looks at both the person and their relationship with their larger environment. I've worked with ages 1-70+, diagnoses across the board, and in a variety of settings - a psychiatric hospital, medical detox for substance use, community mental health, intensive outpatient, residential, and in-home. Maybe you've been in some of those settings yourself! Wherever your path has taken you, I'm happy to walk alongside you in this present chapter.

My approach to therapy

I'm on your team and here to show up however serves you most at any given time. Sometimes that's listening and validating, sometimes that's providing education and skills, and sometimes that's challenging you to face the uncomfy stuff. What I hear most from clients is "I can just tell that you really care," and I do! I bring in humor and playfulness where it fits and tenderness when that's what you need more. My niche is adults and teens with relational trauma, anxiety, and/or depression, although I have significant experience with other diagnoses as well. I generally use a mixed approach with parts work/IFS, psychoeducation, MI, and some sprinkles of DBT and CBT. If that alphabet soup means nothing to you - no problem. If you have curiosity about how I mix these modalities, I'm happy to answer questions!

What you can expect from me

My number one goal in our first session is to make you feel safe and comfortable sharing about what's going on that brought you into therapy. Then, we can see if I have the right skill set to help you get where you want to go. Finally, (and most importantly) let's make sure we click! The research shows that the connection between the therapist and the client is the biggest determinant of progress in therapy, so I want to make sure that I'm the right fit for you! We'll also talk through paperwork, insurance, and other housekeeping to set the foundation for our work together - this part can look more structured, formal, and boring than a normal therapy session, but we gotta do it sometime!
