Great to meet you!

I graduated from Duke University and received my PhD at New York University. I trained at the National Psychological Association for Psychoanalysis and the Institute for Expressive Analysis. I've been immersed in psychodynamic treatment for years working with people of diverse ages & backgrounds struggling with trauma, depression, substance abuse, sexual difficulties, relationships problems, women's issues, among other concerns. My approach to therapy

It's about listening, drawing connections between past and present, using interpretation to highlight what a patient's words do not say. The therapeutic relationship is key to healing. My approach brings insight, heighten self-awareness, improves focus, emotional regulation, and communication skills. Patients internalize analytic capacities so they can use them independently, as healthy ways of adapting to life’s challenges and dealing constructively with reality long after treatments ends.

What you can expect from me

Given time you can expect to achieve your personal and professional goals. In the therapeutic process we strive for a deeper understanding of who we are, work through the obstacles we face, mourn the losses that accompany all our lives, and develop the awareness and inner strength to achieve a rewarding and gratifying life. Stress and anxiety is better processed through the work so one's general physical health is improved along with one's relationships and emotional wellbeing.
