Great to meet you!

Hi, you have decided to come to therapy, hoping to resolve some of the issues that have held you back from realizing your full self, accessing your full potential for happiness and contentment. I know how difficult this can be; vulnerability has not always been safe.

My work with you is to follow your lead, guide your steps, and support your journey by giving you the tools to put the puzzle pieces of your life together in an integrated whole. Over the past 50 years I have grown with my clients, expanded my therapeutic skills, and found the diverse, incredible populations with whom I have been honored to work.

Join with me and together we will tackle your monsters! It can be done, with tears, laughter, reenactments, imagery, mindfulness, EMDR, Gestalt, and more: whatever works best for you.

I welcome seniors, teens, women in transitional times of life, LGBTQplus, couples working to understand each other better, and new, prospective parents.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I begin initial sessions with a check in, a chance to ask about me, and an invitation to tell me your story, in whatever way, sequence, detail (or not) that is most comfortable for you. As we identify what is most important to work on first, I will offer some ideas on how we can most effectively address your concerns.

What you can expect from our first session

When we begin together, we identify the issues and goals that clients want to address and achieve. While these can change and evolve, it is essential that we check in regularly to be sure we are still on track. It is sometimes hard for clients to challenge their therapist, so it is incumbent upon us to keep the doors of communication wide open. This is your time, your special space, so I want you to walk out of our sessions feeling satisfied that you have learned something about yourself and are making progress toward your goals. I do not guarantee that this will always be comfortable.
