Great to meet you!

I am passionate about helping clients get in touch with the parts of themselves that are struggling. My goal is to fully understand these parts and bring balance and healing to your internal mental and emotional experience. I grew up near Atlanta, Georgia, and completed my undergraduate studies in Asheville, NC. In 2007, I moved to Fort Collins for graduate school at Colorado State University, and I've loved it here ever since! Fort Collins has become home for me, my husband, and our two sons. We enjoy hiking, camping, and skiing together. Personally, I also love reading, especially fantasy, sci-fi, and psychology books. As a Licensed Psychologist with a PhD, I bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to our sessions. My approach is compassionate and client-centered, focusing on creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. If you're ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Let's work together to bring balance, inner resiliency, and harmony to your life.

My approach to therapy

My primary modality is called Internal Family Systems (IFS). If you've ever seen the movie Inside Out, it's kind of similar to that! IFS helps us explore and understand the different 'parts' of ourselves, leading to greater self-awareness and harmony within. In addition to IFS, I also utilize Mindful Self-Compassion, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and various behavioral problem-solving strategies. I work with clients on self-regulation, building internal resiliency, personal boundary setting, healthy communication, and executive functioning. Whether you're dealing with trauma, ADHD, anxiety, autism spectrum support, depression, family or intimate relationships, learning disorders, life transitions, medical issues, OCD, perinatal support, perimenopause/menopause, phobias or stress, I'm here to help.

What you can expect from me

In a first session, you will find that I offer a positive, compassionate, engaged, curious, and open energy in session that is not overly formal or pathologizing. I enjoy connecting authentically with my clients human-to-human. I aim to gain a detailed understanding of your background, lived experience, and therapeutic goals in our first appointment, but am ready to meet you where you are at. I usually like to describe my therapeutic approach if time allows, and you will have an open invitation to ask me any questions you have about my background, approach or other info that is relevant to you!
