Great to meet you!

I have been practicing social work for 15 years with the last 3 in the field of counseling/therapy. I attended Southern University and A&M College and Tulane University's School of Social Work where I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s of Science in Social Work degrees respectively. I have worked in what is considered the trenches, community health, and now healthcare. Empowering people through the profession of Social Work is my passion.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is holistic. I look at your entire life - who and what influences you, your daily demands, self-care practices, and your authenticity with yourself. I like to focus on the mind, body, and spirit as they are all are interconnected. My approach is also inclusive of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Reality Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution Focused Therapy while helping you to build upon your strengths through an empowerment approach.

What you can expect from me

During your first session, you can expect warmth, empathy, and rapport building. I have a very calm and laid-back demeanor which shines through. I am nonjudgmental, yet I still hold you accountable to the goals you set for yourself. I will not work harder than you but, I will walk alongside you and cheer you on.
